Brass-Tacks was created by those who lived through the Eaton Fire, people who lost their
homes, but not hope in the spirit of Altadena. We are committed to rebuilding because we
believe deeply in what makes this community truly one of a kind. We’re not outsiders; we’re your
neighbors. We’ve walked these streets, hiked these trails, and seen firsthand how important it is
to rebuild with care and intention. With Brass-Tacks, you’re not just hiring a contractor, you’re

Established in response to the Eaton Fire, evolved out of the Altadena Collective, our mission is rooted in lived experience, we are survivors, neighbors, and advocates committed to rebuilding Altadena with care and intention. We help homeowners find trusted builders who align with their values while also offering insurance guidance, and construction consulting, making the process of starting over simpler, more empowering, and deeply community-centered.
As an owner’s representative, we serve as the homeowner’s advocate throughout the architectural and construction process, managing schedules, budgets, and communication to ensure their interests are protected every step of the way. We also build strong relationships with architects and contractors, helping translate vision into reality while reducing stress and risk for the homeowner.
